Privacy policy

The short version

FokusTime keeps your data on your phone. If you create an account, a copy of your tasks, habits, events and a few settings is stored on our server so you can use them on another phone. Your screen time, app usage and notifications never leave your device.

Without an account

Everything you create is stored only on your phone. We receive nothing.

With an account we store

• Your name, email address, mobile number and a salted hash of your password (never the password itself).
• Your task lists, tasks, subtasks, habits, habit check-ins and events.
• Theme, haptics, wake and sleep times and the priorities you chose during setup.
• Your plan (Free, Plus or Pro) and when your trial started.
• For each signed-in device: a device name and a hashed sign-in token, so you can be signed out remotely.

Never uploaded

• Which apps you use and for how long, pickups and notification counts.
• The apps you block, your limits and your widget settings.
• The content of any notification or message. FokusTime cannot read them.
• Photos attached to tasks stay on your phone.

Permissions

Accessibility and usage access are used only to see which app is on screen, so FokusTime can block it, and to count screen time for your statistics. This information is processed on the device.

Security

Connections to our server use HTTPS. On your phone, sign-in tokens are kept in Android's encrypted storage. Passwords are stored as slow salted hashes, and accounts are locked for 15 minutes after repeated failed sign-ins.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account at any time. Your account and everything synced to it are removed immediately. Data on your phone is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data.
